Tiny Web Toolbox

What is Tiny Web Toolbox?

Tiny Web Toolbox (or TWT) is a portable, simple, hackable and fun tool for making fast, green, light and smart websites.

It's a small POSIX-compliant shell script which automates various tasks of building and maintening a handmade website. It lets you the full control over your website, not forcing you into anything, just automating the repetitive boring time-consuming tasks usually involved with making a website by hand.

It is currently in its early stages, but it is planned to take over the world soon.

Future features

• Markdown integration
• allow script parameters (--help, etc)
• local templates for subdirectories
• Atom format instead of RSS
• make templating more powerful by allowing to display the content of any variable
• automatic indexes, sitemap and TOC
• "active item" marker (for instance for menu entries)
• various CGI addons (contact form, comments, search engine, web interface)
• migrate the developement to a VCS (probably Bazaar as it doesn't need anything to be installed on the server side)

To use Tiny Web Toolbox, edit the header, footer and css file to fit your needs, fill them with your info, and don't forget to repeat the process for the syndication header file as well.
